The people that work there are approachable, patient and helpful. These are not always easy qualities to get across in a telephone call. When you are feeling unwell it really helps to get a friendly response from your surgery.

I came for a new patient appt, Devonshire Ave at 3.05pm. Saw a lovely nurse (can't remember her name). She did all my checks and was very thorough and friendly. She also helped me regarding my repeat prescription (new pharmacy). She also answered my questions (looked up for me) regarding upcoming tests due = blood test / smear / mammogram / implant etc. She also confirmed info regarding poo test (came through post), wasn't sure what to do - have done now! And regarding giving blood - unfortunately they refused me and I gave consent for them to contact a doctor to confirm. Hopefully can do in the furure. The receptionist was also very helpful - took my repeat prescription form and sent it off - have got medication now. Many thanks.

I have recently been in hospital and my medication was changed. So the pharmacist at practice contacted me and went through it with me. She was very helpful. I also needed another blood test in 2 days which was arranged very quickly.

I was worried about my age and the age related tests such as blood, bowel screening, smear. With the assistance of letters, text messages, digital sign in, waiting room comfort, professionalism of Nurses and Staff. And speedy results on the NHS app, I feel empowered and how great times have changed from the Traditional Drs. This has helped me a lot, Thank you Lighthhouse Practice.

Prescriptions, whether issued by the GP, or tasked by a third party hospital consultant, or repeat prescriptions requested online, are all processed and executed very quickly by the Prescriptions and Pharmacy Team. A reassuringly reliable and efficient service. Thank you!

I received a message to collect form for a blood test with no explanation as to why or what was being tested, usually I have at least 3 tests. The receptionist was unable to print the form so I waited 10 minutes for a nurse to bring it out. Previously tests were done in the surgery and it could have been done in less time than the collection of the form. Walking to St Mary’s, arriving at 12.30 with clinic due to close at 1.15, it was already finished for new arrivals, necessitating another 1.5 hours attendance next day. While your changes to taking blood tests might suit the NHS they certainly inconvenience patients. If there is no face to face meeting with Practice Nurse more information should be provided about the tests to the patient. If St Mary’s provides the service you should stick to advertised opening times. 4 hours of my life which I won’t get back and I have no idea whether I actually wanted the test nor when others will need to be arranged

The administration of this surgery and support for elderly people is shockingly bad. My elderly relative for whom I’m allowed to advocate is registered house bound as she has had a 6 month flare up of osteo and rheumatoid arthritis which had made movement agonising for her. As she requires regular injections B12, a blood test in order to prescribe methotrexate and flu and Covid vaccinations she felt it was easier to have someone coming to the house rather than struggle to get her in the car - which was extremely difficult. I thought this would be the best option but it has caused nothing but stress and frustration for her. She gets extremely anxious that she has the blood test for methotrexate every 3 months otherwise she cannot be prescribed the drug. And this is exactly what happened- no one came to do the blood test so she couldn’t get the drug. The surgery is impossible to get hold of - long queues on the phone - ‘you are number 26 in the queue’ and a call back system that you cannot rely on to actually call you back. Despite me going into the surgery twice and phoning 3 times and being assured someone would be round, she has NOT had her flu or Covid vaccination which is an absolute disgrace! She was so concerned about getting the blood test that she struggled to the surgery herself this week ( hence this survey being sent) Her symptoms have very slightly improved so at great effort she got there. Only to find that there was no record that anyone was going to come out to her even though her blood test was due and was crucial. She eventually was able to see someone in the surgery who agreed to take her bloods and as they realised she had had no health reviews since she was 80 ( 5 years ago! ) they did one. She is skin and bone. She made it to the surgery on this occasion but as arthritis flares - so on another occasion she will again be reliant on a home service which she says she dreads as it just can’t be relied on. She is full of praise for the nursing staff when you actually get to see them but the service is appalling. Old people could be dying in their homes as it would be easy for them to give up trying to access help at this surgery.

Automatic check in saved waiting at the desk and more efficient. Waiting room was clean and spacious with comfortable chairs. Called to Doctor in a reasonable time against appointment time. Received excellent service from the Doctor covering all issues.
