Wish I could give zero stars! How this place can be classed as a Doctors Sugery I have no idea as it's been no help to me or my partner for 2 years straight, if you like speaking to patronising GP's who speak to you asif you have the mental age of a 2 year old this is the place to go. Might as well just stand outside and speak to the wall because this will provide a much more valuable service.

Just wanted to say a massive thankyou to a particular doctor who saw our daughter recently,he was extremely professional and approachable, kept us informed at all times as we were initially fairly worried about her, he is a fantastic GP and will be missed, hope he returns to the Surgery again soon.
Also special mentions to two particular ladies who also have spoken to myself and Lana on the phone to help organise appointments, they have been extremely polite and very helpful.

The Colliery Practice in Huntington and Cannock are both run extremely well.
The care from start to finish from Receptionists ,Nurses and Doctors is wonderful.
They do not get praised enough.!!!!
I would just like to say a big thank you to my doctor who has been wonderful on my last few visits, she is a wonderful dedicated doctor who is a credit to the practice as are the other doctors within the practice.

Thank you again ,what a wonderful team you all are !!!!

Had an appointment with the nurse on Wednesday 12th December. What an absolute credit to you she is! It wasn't a pleasant reason why i had to visit and il leave the details out lol But she didn't only just do her job she genuinely went that extra mile to make sure i was comfortable and at ease. I will be requesting where possible for future appointments, can't praise her enough! Thank you x

Practice writes to me inviting me to attend for Flu immunisation. I went the practice in Cannock (which is where I live) only to be told that they do not do it at Cannock branch, I have to go to Huntington This is NOT mentioned in the letter, getting to Huntington is difficult, that is why I registered in Cannock!!!
The letter sent to me asks that if I decline the vaccine, I should sign the letter and return it.
Well I DO want the vaccine....as you state in the letter ''it is Very Important...3000 people each year die from flu''
DO NOT write to me again, OFFERING any a flu vaccinations

ALSO - Reception staff member should not be customer interfacing as she does not have the correct social skills

PS - Notice that replies to these reviews are only replied, months after the comment, which really shows they do not take into account what is written

Having been a patient at this excellent practice in excess of 20 years ,
All at both colliery practice centres have always been very helpful which has taken the stresses and strains away to getting help and a conclusion for whatever ailment or problem we have attended for.

Special thanks to our doctors and nurse.

I visited the surgery this morning for my annual contraceptive pill check up only to be told the only GP on duty was refusing to sign any prescriptions.

This is absolutely appalling.

I now have to wait up to four days whilst I wait for my prescriptions to be signed next week by another GP.

How is this adequate health care service?

I would just like to thank the Dr for her professional, caring & expert manner in which she has looked after me over the last 3.5 months. I was very lucky with her expert diagnosis & sending me into hospital which resulted in me requiring major surgery. The Dr's continued care following surgery has been second to none & im very grateful.

Found this surgery online and it was close to my home, so I decided to register online. One day after registering I called them and asked when I could make an appointment. I explained that I registered online and they just answered “we dont do online registering.” Well maybe you shouldn’t have the option on your website then?? They then told me to come in and register in the practice. So I finished work earlier to make it in time before they close and walked half an hour to register in the practice.
Upon arrival they told me that they need a letter with my address on. Why did they not tell me that on the phone????
After I told her that I already filled out an online application and now finished work early just to come here she only answered “well you would’ve had to fill those forms in again anyways.” What??? How does that make sense?
A complete waste of time and I will surely not waste my time with them any more. Will be registering with a different practice instead. Thanks.

I needed a simple form indicating my medical problem in one word, signed and stamped. Handed in by daughter to the practice. Received a telephone call that it needed to be looked at by secretary who was not in the office until two days time. In the meantime had a GP appointment and realised the secretary had to advise on charging. I advised the receptionist that I was okay (not really for such little work) with the charge so it could be done asap. That was 21/5/18. Phoned a week later form had been passed to the doctor who was away and advised to phone five days later. Phoned and was told another five days. Phoned again and doctor on holiday until 18/6/18. Appears only this doctor is capable of signing the form which can take six weeks as it is a very low priority. Incidentally, at my appointment, the GP showed me a bag filled with medical forms for completion dating back to February. The form is for extra assistance for holiday travel. I booked a last minute holiday just before the form was handed in and travel on 24/6. I am now going to have great difficulty because I doubt I will get back the form. i have now registered with another practice who normally take one week (two at busy times) and the new receptionist was astonished at this time estimation of six weeks. All in all this practice is a waste of space.

Threatened with no repeat medication unless i booked a review appointment although I had no problems with the medication I am taking which I should be on supposedly for life. First appointment was a month away (so by making the appoinment I was stopping a sick person being seen sooner) after I needed a repeat. They allowed the repeat as I had booked. The whole exercise is so they can tick the boxes. I arrived twenty minutes early and was told seven minute delay, turned out to be 50 minutes. Complete waste of mine and the doctor's time and could have been done via the telephone or in writing. While i was waiting, another patient's mother came in stressed because her son was stuck in traffic and would be late and was told not here in ten minutes appointment would be cancelled. He was three appointments after me! One rule for them another for us.

Trying to make an appointment with any of the doctors is like drawing blood from a stone. If you need to see a doctor you have to wait for3-4 weeks. So I advise everyone when you get up in a morning decide I’m going to be I’ll in a months time so I better make an appointment now. This used to be a brilliant surgery when the previous doctors were here but has seriously gone down hill. Neither the doctors or receptionists show any interest in patients any more

Trying to get an appointment is like digging for gold. Rude uncaring reception staff who clearly have no customer care experience!
Practise manager not much better!!!
Rude, condescending and uncaring!
They’re all in the wrong profession!

I have had many positive experiences of the GPs and nurse prescribers over the 5 years I have been registered with this surgery. However, I have been left very frustrated and angry from a call that was returned by the Duty GP today. I was advised by my midwife to contact the GP to seek advice about a potential exposure to a virus, which could be very harmful to my unborn baby and according to NHS Choices may require testing for through a simple blood test. Detailed information was provided to the receptionist, who agreed to pass on the message to the Duty GP. I was impressed initially as the GP called back within a few hours. However, it became clear that they had no idea why they were calling me. I accepted this and was happy to explain my concerns again in detail. Following this explanation, the GP asked me why I was calling about this issue, insinuating that I was wasting their time with my concerns. When I again reiterated my concerns about my potential exposure to this virus, that the midwife I had spoken to had advised me to call and that I was obviously concerned that there could be a risk to my unborn baby, the GP then told me that I should have made an emergency appointment! Throughout the call the attitude of the GP was dismissive and uncaring. I felt that the doctor was either not listening or was unable to understand my concerns to a degree where they were able to provide any useful advice or guidance. Due to this, I feel that my only option is to call again on Monday morning and request to speak to an alternative GP for a second opinion as I have been left feeling very confused and uncertain about the correct course of action to take. It is such a shame that the attitude of one GP had resulted in me feeling the need to write this, as I have had such fantastic experiences with other practitioners both in the past and recently. Shame on you, doctor.

Lack of sympathy and support. Felt belittled by doctor and not the first time its happened.

I have found this practice to provide everything a GP needs to. Dr's are friendly and knowledgeable and the baby clinics are very supportive. If people used the service appropriately there would be no problem with appointments or having 'too many new patients' as some complain of.

Overall one of the best GPS I have been to. Only comment is the reception staff could be a little more friendly as they seem to sit there and look quite glum. I've often been stood at the desk ignored while they are chatting between themselves about there personal life.
